What type of actions are considered negligent?
There are three main types of negligence including occupier's negligence, Negligent Treatment and product negligence.
Occupier's negligence covers situations where the occupier of a premise owes a duty of care to people who come onto the premises to ensure that it is safe. This duty of care will be breached when a customer slips on a wet floor in a shopping centre or a tenant injures themselves in rented premises because the landlord hasn't maintained the property.
Negligent Treatment involves situations where you receive an injury as a result of a health provider failing to provide sufficient skill in treating you.
Product negligence refers to situations where you receive an injury as a result of a faulty, unsafe or defective product.
